Homegrown vegetables take centre stage in Kiki van Eijk’s ‘Botanica’ tea towel collection. With her son Puk she made sketches in their garden: the tomato plant, courgette flower and radish were selected as the prettiest motifs. The rich garden colour palette was translated into textiles by blending thin yarns in five colours. The pattern around the edge of the tea towel is a subtle reference to 20th-century household textiles from the TextielMuseum’s collection. The series was developed for the label by TextielMuseum and can regularly be seen on the looms in the TextielLab.
