Five exhibitions and dozens of dedicated projects will make the most central Design Week’s district a “distributed museum”. Special guest: Ugo La Pietra.

5VIE returns as a “distributed design museum” with five solo shows and dozens of prestigious exhibitions in the district’s key places. In addition to the usual appointments – the Design Pride by Seletti and Masterly The Dutch in Milan that is dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Rembrandt’s death – curators Maria Cristina Didero, Annalisa Rosso and Nicolas Bellevance-Lecompte were asked to trace the editorial line of the district through site-specific installations that reaffirm the attention towards the territory.
At the Oratorio della Passione, Didero works with the Lebanese designer Carlo Massoud in order to raise, through its solo show “Il pesce e gli astanti”, some of the hottest topics of Middle East political debate, such as the prohibition of veiling in public bodies or the uncontrolled building speculation to the detriment of traditional residences. Annalisa Rosso curates “Human code”, an exhibition by Roberto Sironi in SIAM’s underground that traces the salient stages of HOMO species through objects and finds that are emblematic of 300,000 years of evolution.
