AUTOSCOPY
Or the Incredible Voyage
At the occasion of Paris Design Week, Maison Dada is presenting a series of editions featuring Dutch designer Kiki van Eijk at the Ellia Gallery’s setting, a gem location at the heart of Le Marais.
AUTOSCOPY or the Incredible Voyage, takes one to a truly new kind of travel out of yourself, questioning today’s concerns of what is essential, what can extract yourself from your daily obligations and how to stay inspired and useful.
Dutch artist and designer Kiki van Eijk has designed this series of objects by splicing together recognizable components in unusual combinations.
Inspired by a childlike sense of wonder and smallest details of the everyday, Kiki van Eijk has produced two vases and a clock of an imaginary world where ladders, clocks and cabinets are mixed and combined. Each object is an assembly of colors, forms and materials like solid wood, glass, ceramics and metal. Each creation becomes much more than just an object; it creates its own imaginary and personal world; Kiki’s World.
Colors, shapes and textures of the exhibited creations dynamically dialogue with a sense of humour while adding some new functions to Maison Dada collection (such as vases, clocks…).
