Design duo Kiki & Joost has created a collection of solar panels<\/a> for MyEnergySkin, a Dutch company that wants to make products attractive enough to cover building facades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kiki van Eijk<\/a> and Joost van Bleiswijk<\/a> \u2013 a couple who make work both together and separately \u2013 produced eight tile designs for MyEnergySkin<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two solar roof tiles and six solar facade tiles, all inspired by textures from nature or the built environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kiki & Joost designed the range of solar panels for MyEnergySkin<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the roof tiles, Kiki & Joost<\/a> chose to emulate copper and iron, with a mottled pattern and a reflective finish that they say glitters “jewel-like” in the light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the facade tiles, they looked to a mix of sources. One, titled Paint, appears to have been streaked by a paintbrush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collection includes a panel named Paint<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another, Rain, has an oxidised effect, while Tudor has a muddy brickwork pattern, and Leaves gives the impression that it is in the shadow of foliage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
